Google may accidentally reveal the pre-order dates for the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a

Google launched Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a earlier this week. However, the company did not disclose any other details about these devices, only stating that they will be listed later this year. Now, it seems that Google France may have accidentally revealed the release date of the upcoming Pixel device.

As discovered by the 9to5Google reader, Google’s Pixel 4a announcement in France mentioned that the pre-order date of Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 is October 8. The blog post has been updated to remove the reference, but the Google web cache can be found here, which still mentions the original date.
Google tends to hold Ki "made by Google" hardware events in October, so it is entirely possible for the company to hold events in the first week of October, and then start accepting device reservations from the leaked date. Although the date may change, the Pixel 4a will be released due to the ongoing pandemic.
The release was delayed for several months, so Google seems not to delay the release of Pixel 5. In addition to Pixels, Google will also launch other products in its October event, including Android TV dongle.
