Fitbit Sense finally gets ECG app functionality in the U.S. and Europe

 According to reports from Tizenhelp via 9to5Google, Smartwatch has begun to receive updates in the United States, Britain and Germany. The report said that countries like India are also on the list, but the exact date is unknown. For the uninformed, Fitbit launched the Fitbit Sense Smartwatch at a price of $329 in August. Smartwatch has advanced health tracking functions, such as ECG, EDA, technical support Google Assistant and Alexa.

However, because the company has obtained FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approval, the ECG function cannot be used at startup. And the European Union's CE mark (EEA sanitary standard). In other words, the company is now launching this feature as promised. In addition, the report stated that the company conducted multi-site clinical trials in the United States to submit data for regulatory approval.
How does the ECG function work?
After returning, the new update will be available to all users in the aforementioned countries/regions soon. You can also try to install it manually by downloading the app from the Fitbit official website or through the Fitbit app on your smartphone. After installation, go to Assessment and Report -> Discovery tab -> Heart Rhythm Assistant. After accepting the terms, open the ECG application on Fitbit Sense and complete the settings. You must place your fingers on both sides of the stainless steel ring of the watch. This will require reading your heartbeat to help you master your heart rhythm and detect any atrial fibrillation in the future.
Fitbit Sense health and tracking features
In any case, Fitbit Sense is the first smart watch with ECG (electrocardiogram) and EDA (electroskin activity) sensors. According to Fitbit, the success rates of AFib and Heartrate are 98.7% and 100%, respectively. AFib is usually an irregular heartbeat, which can cause a variety of heart-related complications. However, EDA measures the level of sweat on the skin to monitor stress levels.
Other features of Smartwatch include exercise mode, 24/7 100% accurate heart rate, skin temperature sensor, SpO2 for blood oxygen level, etc. Smartwatch has been listed in the United States, but will be available in Europe from October 16.
